The Little Things Will Kill You

Mentally, I’m a little down today—weighed in at 162.0 this morning.  On Friday, I was at 159.2.  (Deep breath).  How could my weekend show a drastic change in weight?  I’m fortunate to have unloaded on my nutritionist today.  My body is retaining water because of the excess salt I had over the weekend.  Starting with Friday—there is what I did wrong this weekend, and that this should be a lesson for me.

  • Friday afternoon–While seeing Bradley Cooper’s new movie, “Aloha,” I indulged in movie popcorn (yes with a couple dabs of butter).  I ordered a small bag, but ate about 1/4 of the bag.  Oh yeah, and I had a coke.  It’s been forever since I had that combo.
  • Friday night – Went to a social gathering, and I was SUPPOSED to eat before, but didn’t get a chance, so at the party, I had all these appetizer foods thrown at me–crackers and pimento dip, elk sausage, and rice krispy treats.  The main dish was the sausage and chicken gumbo-=-which I should have just had one bowl and that was it.  I had a little of everything.  No alcohol though, but I had another coke.
  • Saturday dinner – I knew I was going to go to Joe’s Crab Shack for my niece’s birthday, so I had 7 delicious Fried Golden shrimp along with several French fries.
  • Saturday night–I had 1/2 a chocolate chip cookie at 9:30 p.m. at night.  No Bueno.  Should have just stuck with my tangerine.

I feel terrible that I splurged after doing so well during the week.  I never want to have to come back from behind again, so I’m going to stick my plan again.  I’m glad I wrote this down because I have to remember how setbacks feel. #tmillerproject #gettingtofit2015 #lessonslearned
